Where Your Money Goes

Research Grants:

We have always believed that the best way to use funds is by way of scientific grants. Doctors and researchers have the opportunity to fill out a grant proposal that asks questions regarding the specific type of research they will be conducting and how they intend to use the funds allocated by the RMCRF Scientific Advisement board. The scientific board reviews the applications and further distributes funds in an appropriate manner so as to get the most out of every penny.

All the researchers that receive funding participate in developing the newest treatments and prevention methods for Renal Medullary Carcinoma and Sickle Cell Disease.

World Wide Outreach:

Not only are your funds going toward finding the newest treatments for Renal Medullary Carcinoma and Sickle Cell Disease but they are also being sent to multiple reputable organizations around the world especially in Africa who specialize in delivering front line care and treatment to those dealing with the chronic complications associated with Sickle Cell Disease. Millions of children and adults all over the world lack the necessary medical resources to help manage their condition. This is fundamentally unjust and hence why our founders made it a priority to ensure that a portion of funding is used to support this necessary work.

Scholarships

The RMCRF is invested in not only funding current research projects to treat RMC and other sickle cell abnormalities, but to help the future healcare leaders in their journey to becoming doctors and researchers. A portion of all donations go toward a yearly scholarship that is given to a High School senior who has shown continued interest in pursuing a career as a medical professional researching the diseases that disproportionately affect low-income communities of color.
